General


The spectrometer is not recognized by the AvaSoft Software, what can I do?


First, check of the spectrometer powered is by USB or external powered!

Is the board powered by USB, please check if the green LED is on at the front of the board.
Make sure the PC sound is on. When you connect the spectrometer, you hear a sound like “ding dong”)

Is the board external powered, check the 12V adapter. Check the voltage of the main source.
The power switch at the back of the spectrometer must be switched to external power state, then check of the green LED is on at the front of the board.

If the green LED is not turning on, install the driver and check again.

The spectrometer is not recognized after install AvaSoft


When you install AvaSoft, please download the latest version from our website. During installation you can choose a driver, please choose “WINUSB” driver.

It is possible that AvaSoft after the first installation doesn’t recognize the spectrometer. Please reinstall the same version of AvaSoft again with “WINUSB” driver, the reason for the problem is a register setting on your PC.

Can I disconnect the fiber of a irrad-calibrated spectrometer?


When the spectrometer is calibrated without FC-PC connector, by disconnecting the fiber the irrad-calibration will be not valid anymore.
If the spectrometer is calibrated with FC-PC connector, it is allowed to disconnect and connect the fiber while maintaining the calibration.

Where can I find the software?


You can download the software from our website. You need to login to have access. After registration you will have a confirmation email which needs to be activated.

How does the license works?


The license is programmed into the memory of the spectrometer. You can download and install the software on more computers. There is no limitation.

Please choose “WINUSB” driver by driver choice, we recommend this type of driver now.

Repair procedure


What is the procedure for sending hardware for repair?


Any consignment arriving at Avantes must be refer to an RMA # (Returned Material Authorization number). Contact your local representative or contact Avantes Sales team +31(0)313670170, email: support@avantes.com to obtain an RMA #. Once you receive an RMA number, you can send the hardware to Avantes Headquarters. Make sure the RMA number is visible on the packing slip or on the outside of the box. All postage is responsibility of the customer. Freight collect or COD will be refused.
