iledb-web.jpg Avantes has developed a series of measurement tools to facilitate LED measurement consistent with the CIE Condition A and B procedures.

The Ava -LED-Holder holds the LED and fits into the AVA-ILEDA-TUBE or the AVA-ILEDB-TUBE. The tube is connected through a fiber optic cable to our intensity calibrated AvaSpec spectrometer (or any SMA spectrometer) which measures the luminous intensity. Characterization of LEDs has become of central importance for many LED manufacturers and users. The CIE has provided a recommendationd for LED characterization in its Publication No. 127 which is defined as averaged LED intensity (ALI). According to the CIE procedure, ALI is measured from the tip of the LED with a detector placed perpendicularly to the mechanical axis of the LED. Both the surface of the circular aperture of this measuring detector (100 mm2) and the distance of the aperture from the tip of the LED is defined as follows: CIE Standard Condition A the distance is 316mm ILEDA CIE Standard Condition B the distance is 100mm ILEDB Avantes has developed a series of measurement tools to facilitate LED measurement consistent with the CIE Condition A and B procedures.
