Avasoft 7.2.0 is now available to download from our website for all registered users. The following changes have been made.
ConvertToExcel (needs AvaSoft-FULL). Can be used to convert many spectra that were saved in AvaSoft into one Excel file. Also very useful in multichannel systems because this option sorts datafiles that were recorded with different spectrometer channels automatically into different sheets. Up to 255 spectra that were recorded with the same spectrometer channel are placed in the same sheet, separated by columns For more information see AvaSoft 7.2 manual, section 3.1.14 File Menu: Convert Graph - to Excel -
Negative Irradiance allowed. In AvaSoft 7.1.0 and earlier versions, the calculated irradiance data was not allowed to become negative. Negative values were truncated to zero. This resulted in a net small amount of signal in absence of light input. In AvaSoft 7.2 (in fact since avasoft 7.1.1), negative irradiance is allowed.
A Save option has been implemented in AvaSoft-CHEM. For more information see AvaSoft 7.2 manual, section 4.8.3 Enabling the application
Thermo regulation for the AvaSpec-USB2-TEC (user can enter a setpoint at which the detector temperature will be held constant under Setup-Hardware)
After closing down AvaSoft under Windows Vista, the Operating System automatically powers off the AvaSpec spectrometer. With the AvaSpec-USB2, this powering off could happen before the spectrometer was ready with writing the settings to eeprom. If this happened, AvaSoft reported an eeprom failure at next startup, and automatically restored the eeprom from a backup file. With AvaSoft 7.2.0 and later, AvaSoft will not close before writing to eeprom is ready.
