Sales Engineer Germany

As Sales Engineer in Germany, you’ll be responsible for the full sales process within your geographical area, whilst providing high-class customer service. Generating turnover is your main task and as such you’ll need to build and maintain customer relations, acquire new customers, and advise customers about our product range. Besides that, you will identify emerging opportunities in the market and plan accordingly.
Spectroscopy has a wide range of applications and as a result of this, it can be used in many different markets. In this role, you’ll be part of a fast-moving world of innovation. The clients you’ll be working with will be pushing the boundaries of the possibilities of spectroscopy. It will be part of your job to find the right match between clients’ requirements and technical possibilities.

What you will be doing

• Find, support, advice, and visit customers and distributors within your area
• Identify customer-specific needs and match these with the possibilities within Avantes
• Based on inputs of R&D and our Application Engineer, consulting customers regarding technical solutions
• Be the first point of contact for all customer-questions
• Providing first line support to your customer base
• Based on company targets you will defy sales goals, specific to your customer base and region, and plan sales activities
• Drafting up and following up on quotations

Your qualifications and skills

A results-driven team player with great communication skills. Maintaining and building relationships, working accurately, and being able to organize and plan your work accordingly are key requirements for this role. Taking the initiative and being market-oriented comes naturally to you.

• A technical college and/or university degree, combined with a commercial background
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, including B-to-B products/concepts/services
• Experienced user of MS Office. Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
• Willingness to travel (domestic and international)
• Fluent in German and English, both written and verbally
