Radiometric Light measurement using spectroscopy

On 10 November 2015 we have done a webinar in cooperation with Optics.org
This webinar is still available on http://optics.org/webinars

Radiometric Light measurement using spectroscopy
Ger Loop - Product Manager, Avantes BV

Join us for this exclusive webinar on Radiometry, Photometry and related topics. Understand Irradiance and the corresponding units (Watt, Lux etc.), as well as LED light outputs, related parameters and the techniques with which to measure these parameters, and possible applications.Avantes is a leading innovator in the field of spectroscopy, develops and manufacture spectrometers, light sources, software, fiber optic cables, and accessories.

Spectroscopy applications

This webcast, hosted by Electro Optics, and sponsored by Avantes, explores and evaluates the application of optical spectroscopy within fields as diverse as ancient glass research, and food quality and safety. Rounding off the webcast, the third and final presentation provides an overview of the development of optofluidic chips. Aimed at a broad range of industry professionals, this webcast is a must for anyone with a desire to learn how far spectrometers have progressed from laboratory-based tasks. Presentations:
Optical spectroscopy as a tool for the in-situ characterisation of ancient glass
The role of spectroscopy in food safety applications
Spectroscopy on-chip using photonics-enhanced polymer optofluidic chips

Raman spectroscopy; the solution for product identification in chemistry and pharmaceutical industry

Speakers: Peter de Peinder, Vibspec and Ger Loop of Avantes

Abstract:

Raman spectroscopy is becoming a more and more popular technique. It is especially useful for product identification, reaction monitoring, remote sensing and many more. It provides an analytical tool for molecular finger printing as well as monitoring changes in molecular bond structure. Avantes has some very interesting systems to apply these techniques. In this webcast the independent scientist Peter de Peinder will give you the insights of this complicated technique. There will be room for discussion and questions from your side. If you have special requests you can also share these upfront so we can try to include them in the presentations. In the end we will share the possibilities with the AvaRaman systems Avantes has developed.

Main presenter is Peter de Peinder (1967) studied Chemistry, Major Biochemistry, at Utrecht University and became subsequently member of the Vibrational Spectroscopy department as a junior scientist. He joined Philips in 1999 and became senior scientist at the Material Analysis department of Philips Research and from 2000-2004 he was part-time scientist at Utrecht University. In 2006 he left Philips Research Eindhoven and he focused on his activities for VibSpec.

Optical Emission Spectroscopy

Speakers: Professor Daan Schram, Eindhoven University and Ger Loop of Avantes
