Without our distributing partners, Avantes wouldn’t be the same. That’s why we like to put them in the spotlight and introduce them through a short interview. This month in the spotlights: Femtonika, located in Czech Republic. We spoke with their Managing Director, Jan Hubert.
About Femtonika
Femtonika is a Czech company, established in 2018. “With 3 employees we cover Czech Republic and Slovakia”, Jan explains. “We are focused on laser and light sources, spectrometers and laser systems. The five partners we work with, are all market leaders in producing lasers, spectrometers and advanced laser application tools. This relates nicely with our motto: We bring faster light into your application”, Jan proudly adds.

About Jan Hubert
Jan is the proud owner of Femtonika and has more than 13 years of experience in the sales of spectroscopy tools. “I’m 40 years old and have a background in chemistry and earth sciences. This experience and knowledge about these subjects come in handy when dealing with all the different applications of our customers”, says Jan. When we ask Jan about his hobbies he has a clear answer: “Nature. In all its details, as nature can always surprise us! I like bicycling and love tasting different wines in our region”, he adds.
Femtonika and Avantes
The partnership between Femtonika and Avantes started in 2018, since the establishment of the company. “However, I have been working with Avantes for more than 10 years, through my previous employer. I always had positive experiences with Avantes, so I wanted to continue this partnership with Femtonika as well”, Jan explains.
When we ask Jan what he likes about our partnership, he answers: “Every distributor meeting at Avantes headquarters is memorable, because of the training and I’m always happy to see all of nice things in the Netherlands. I have enjoyed Amsterdam particularly. The opportunity to meet so many other distributors from all around the world who cooperate with Avantes, is an experience itself”, Jan concludes.
