Assignment
Spectroscopy is an advanced analytical technique that utilizes interaction of light with matter to investigate and characterize the composition, structure, and properties of materials. In the medical and dental fields, it is increasingly used for non-invasive diagnostics, such as the early detection of caries and enamel demineralization.

To effectively demonstrate this technology, Avantes is seeking an intern to develop a tradeshow-ready demonstration of a dental health assessment tool using spectroscopy. This interactive demonstration will be showcased at prominent medical and dental technology exhibitions, highlighting the non-invasive detection of early-stage dental issues.

The main goal of this internship is to build a proof of concept for such a tradeshow setup that effectively showcases the capabilities of a spectroscopy-based dental health assessment system. The concept should align with industry standards and best practices for audience engagement.

Deliverables
A comprehensive final report containing:

  • Overview of spectroscopy techniques in dental applications.
  • Classification of spectral ranges based on diagnostic objectives.
  • An in-depth explanation of the clinical and diagnostic benefits of using spectroscopy in dental applications.
  • Explanation of the proposed design (preferably including drawings/CAD files).

A working prototype of the proposed tradeshow setup.
